In Georgia, you have the option to choose Uninsured Motorist "Added" On
or "Reduced By" At-Fault Liability Limits coverage.
Uninsured Motorist "Added On To" At-Fault Liability Limits
This coverage provides protection that pays for bodily injury and property damage
sustained by an insured person when caused by an uninsured motorist, or an underinsured
motorist in an accident, up to your uninsured motorist limits added to the amount
payable by the at-fault driver's liability coverage, until all of your damages have
been paid. This coverage is the higher cost option that gives you and your family
members more protection than Uninsured Motorist "Reduced By" At-Fault
Liability Limits coverage.
Uninsured Motorist "Reduced By" At-Fault Liability Limits
This coverage is the lower cost option that pays for bodily injury and property
damage sustained by an insured person when caused by an uninsured motorist, or an
underinsured motorist in an accident, limited to the difference between the at-fault
driver's liability coverage and your uninsured motorist coverage limits. This means
that the most you may collect for all damages in an accident under the at-fault
driver's liability coverage and your Uninsured Motorist "Reduced By" At-Fault
Liability Limits coverage combined is the limit under the one coverage with the
highest limit.
Please refer to your policy for a full explanation of coverages, limitations and
exclusions.
