CarMatch Rental Coverage® In a nutshell CarMatch Rental Coverage® is an Esurance coverage that guarantees that, if your car is stolen or in the shop after an accident, you'll get a rental car that's the same size as your everyday vehicle. Why do I need it? This coverage is particularly helpful for anyone who relies on having a particular size of vehicle (like a pickup truck or a minivan) for their daily routines. So if, say, you have a family of five and two dogs, CarMatch Rental Coverage will make sure you don't end up having to squeeze the whole family into a compact rental car if your everyday vehicle is stolen or in the shop after an accident. What you should know CarMatch doesn't guarantee a rental car that's exactly the same as yours. If you drive a Honda Odyssey minivan, for instance, you may not get the exact same make and model. But CarMatch does mean that you'll get a car in the same category as your Odyssey. CarMatch covers your rental for as long as your car's in the shop after an accident (up to 45 days or $3,000). It's important to note that if your vehicle's found to be a total loss and you're offered reimbursement for it, your CarMatch Rental Coverage will come to an end. To add CarMatch Rental Coverage to your policy, you'll need to have comprehensive and collision coverages as well. Does it matter who's at fault? Nope. If you have CarMatch on your policy, it'll kick in after a covered accident regardless of who was at fault.
